OUR SPACE | YOUR SPACE invites the audience to feel welcomed and part of the community that work in and use firstsite. It takes its cue from the saying ‘my home is your home’ (‘mi casa es su casa’), making a relationship to domestic environment and the close-knit relationships that are often found there by using a font that echoes traditional home crafts this connection is further reinforced
Transforming the usually small scale cross stitch to fit the size of the alcoves relates to the difference in scale between the domestic and the organisation, and the potential for an organisation and a larger group of people to have more impact and be more effective. Transforming ‘OUR’ and ‘YOUR’ also highlights the joint ownership of the public organisations and the joint responsibility we have to care for these places and make sure they work for the good of us all.
