Clare Iles and Mandy Roberts were commission by Art Exchange to produce a live response to Francis Alys’s exhibition Seven Walks, the result was Sub-Sculptures.
Iles and Roberts sourced and collected materials (rubbish/discarded) from the University of Essex’s boundaries and placed them on their bodies to transform themselves into a living sculpture. The abandoned objects, retrieved from unseen areas of UOE campus make visible how we treat our possessions and the planet we live on.
